Question

How does Zapier classify Pro apps versus regular apps?

How does Zapier determine what falls under a Pro app or just a regular app connecting with them?

Hi @CoachK

Do you mean Premium Zap apps?

https://zapier.com/apps?filter=premium

Premium apps are select apps exclusively available to users on paid Zapier plans.

There are currently ~65 Premium Zap apps out of 8,000+.

Those tend to be more integration intensive and critical apps that Zapier owns the maintenance for.

Some can be due to agreements with the apps.

Most Zap app integrations are created and managed by the app developer using the Zapier Developer Platform: https://developer.zapier.com/

Thanks and yes that is what I meant.  Unfortunately I am a very small business and use zoho one for everything and would love to have been able to connect with their crm and zapier . Thanks for the quick response really appreciate it.

@CoachK

Zaps that meet these criteria require a Zapier paid plan.

Hey there, @CoachK! 👋

I checked and Zoho CRM is a Premium app, so it would indeed require a paid Zapier plan to use it in your Zaps. That said, some of the other Zoho apps on Zapier aren’t Premium, so depending on the desired workflow, you might still be able to trigger from other Zoho apps—just not directly from Zoho CRM app while on the Free plan unfortunately.

Do you happen to get email notifications from Zoho CRM with the kind of contact or contact activity data you’d want to send to another app? If so, perhaps you could try setting up an email forwarding rule to send those to Email Parser, which can extract information from the email. Then you could use Email Parser as the trigger for the Zap and pass the information it extracts over to another app. See our Trigger Zaps from new parsed emails guide to learn more.

Do you think that could be a viable workaround here, or does Zoho not send email notifications containing the right sort of contact data?
