How do I use Amazon SNS to send SMS messages when an event/trigger occurs in MongoDB?

Trying to create automation for communicating with our users via SMS. We’re using mongoDB so events/triggers come from there and looking to initiate the SMS using amazon SNS anyone has a good solution for that ?

Hi @Matt123

Good question.

Are these the Zap steps you’re seeking?

Hey @Matt123 ! I just wanted to pop in and see if you were able to get your zap up and running using the trigger and action that Troy mentioned?

Thanks for helping guys. Maybe I'm missing something but it looks like this solution i'm just getting the events/triggers and creating a new message. I don't see how the "create new Message” makes Amazon SNS send my text message … Not looking to use Zappier's sms solution ..

thanks guys

@Matt123

If there ability to send a message is not available for the Amazon SNS Zap, then you may want to consider using a different app that has a Zap action available to send a message: https://zapier.com/apps/categories/notifications

Hiya @Matt123! Thanks for reaching out.
As Troy mentioned it doesn’t appear the Amazon SNS app supports sending an sms message at the moment. That said, I might recommend reaching out to our friends in support to open a feature request for this.

We can’t guarantee a timeline for when or if it will get implemented but this at leasts allows us to track interest. In the meantime, as Troy mentioned it could be worth looking into other services for sending an SMS message in the interim: https://zapier.com/apps/categories/phone. 😊
