Question

How do I use a formatter in Zapier to fill blank last names from Podia to Captivate?

I’m trying to pull info from a waitlist form in Podia then add those clients to a private podcast in captivate.

The problem is that podia doesn’t require First Name and Last Name (it only has a NAME field) so not all clients give both. Captivate REQUIRES both first and last name. Can I add a formatter to fill the blank space that is left when people don’t provide last name.

I essentially want to change the blank space from last name to a literal <space> because Captivate will recognize that and send the invite.

Hi @kellygrothe

Zap action: Formatter > Text > Default Value

Hi @kellygrothe,

+1 to what Troy suggested here. You can use the Formatter - Default Value function to replace a blank value in your mapped field’s data with a value that you assign.

Hopefully, this helps!
