Hi - Zapier newbie and need your help. I use Monday for my customer database/CRM. I use Mailchimp for sending emails (have templates created in Mailchimp). 

How do I select specific customers in Monday and have those trigger an automated email in Mailchimp? (without a specific action or change happening in Monday).

Ex: I select 10 customers that I want to reach out to. I want to select those in Monday, then I want to click: “send to Mailchimp and send Campaign template x.” So then, the 10 customers receive the email from Mailchimp without me logging into Mailchimp.

First built Monday to Mailchimp automation. When Send To Campaign checkbox clicked on Monday → Create/Update Contact on Mailchimp → Add a Tag on Mailchimp contact. 

 

Now in your Mailchimp campaign. Select a trigger When a tag is added → Send the email to the customer

Try these Zap steps:

  1. Trigger: Monday - Specific Column Value Changed in Board
    1. Use a Status column type
  2. Action: Filter
    1. Check for the expected value in the Status column
    2. Help: https://zapier.com/apps/filter/integrations#help
  3. Action: Mailchimp - Create or Update Subscriber
    1. Apply a Tag to trigger the existing Mailchimp Customer Journey

 

 

But is there any way to do it if a value has not changed? I’m just selecting existing customers to email

Yes, but you will have to define s logic using Filter by Zapier
