Use Case: I am a property manager who wants to use Gravity Forms to collect data and zapier to create Notices using Google Docs templates. For this specific use case I am want to create a Notice of Lease Violation. Users of the form can select a Lease Violation from a dropdown menu. Once a Lease Violation is selected, language of the lease is shown to inform the tenant which part of the lease is being violated.

Trigger / Action: The trigger is set to submit the form on submission of a Gravity Form. The action is creating a document from a template in Google Docs.

Problem: It appears I can create a Notice with an individual violation or all of the violations, but cannot get a violation to show based on what is selected in GF.

Question: How do I populate a Google Docs Template from a drop down field selection

Hi @Nethbacca

Help link for using GDoc Templates in Zaps: https://zapier.com/blog/create-autopopulate-google-docs-template/

If you need more help, post these screenshots:

  • how your Zap steps are outlined and configured in EDIT mode
  • how your GDoc Template is configured
