Question

How do I map Asana tasks to different Jira projects based on product category using Zapier

Hey Team,

I am planning to maintain a customer charter in Asana and set up the sync to create asana tasks in Jira directly.

My use case is that my customer charter (in Asana) has a column called “Product Category” which I want to map to the JIRA project field as my customer charter includes multiple products (which are essentially different Jira projects in my organisation). So, basically in Asana I want to keep 1 project per customer under which asana tasks can sync to multiple different jira project based on the product category selected.

Please let me know if this use case is feasible with Zapier.

Hi @Manmohan.Anand,

Welcome to the Community.

You can connect Asana and Jira in Zapier by creating a "Zap" to automate tasks between the platforms. Set up a new Zap with Asana as the trigger app (for example, "New Task in Project") and JIRA as the action app (for example, "Create Issue"). Sign in to accounts and map fields between Asana and Jira, such as linking Asana's "Product Category" to Jira's "Project" field. Test the Zap to confirm it works, then turn it on.
