Question

How do I create a quote bot for meta messenger

Hello,

I’ve been trying to integrate an agent into my meta messenger with no success.

I have a zap set up where if a new lead comes in on a lead form it triggers the Agent to run. The information that comes in is as follows:

  • Phone number: (843) XXX-XXXX
  • How often would you like service?: Every other week
  • Zip code: XXXXX
  • Email: XXXXX.XXXXXXX.XXXX@XXXXX.com
  • How many dogs do you have?: 1
  • When are you looking to start?: In two weeks
  • Full name: CXXXX DXXXXXX

The Agent then takes this information, asks a few more clarifying questions and then checks our price sheet and returns a quote. If the person accepts the quote the agent tells them someone will reach out soon.

I tested the agent for quite a while and tweaked it so now it returns all the information correctly, however, the agent does not respond in meta messenger and I haven’t quite figured out how to get it to do that.

Any ideas?

Hi @DCLowcountry

For us to have more info, post screenshots showing how your Zap steps are outlined and configured in the CONFIGURE tab while in EDIT mode with the field mappings visible.

Out of curiosity, is the agent looking at a google sheet to get the price information?

Hi @DCLowcountry

Your agent isn't responding in Messenger because your Zap is missing the Send Message action.

Fix in 2 Steps:

1. Add a "Facebook Messenger - Send Message From Page" action as the final step after your Agent .

2. Map these required fields :

  • Page: Your Facebook Page

  • Recipient ID: Map to Sender PSID from your trigger (the lead form or Messenger trigger)

  • Text: Map to your Agent's output (quote/response)

Critical: 24-Hour Rule

Facebook only allows auto-replies within 24 hours of the user's last message . If your lead form triggers outside this window, the send action will fail.

Solution: Use a "New Message Sent to Page" trigger instead of a lead form, or ensure your lead form captures the PSID and triggers immediately after the user messages your page .

Hope this helps you get it sorted!

If you're still running into issues after trying these steps, could you share a screenshot and a quick description of what your Zap is doing? That’ll make it much easier to understand what’s going wrong

Hey there @DCLowcountry 👋 Did the fix that Fahad suggested get the quotes sent back to the lead?

Let us know if that sorted it, or if you could do with some more help here. 🙂
