Question

How do I avoid all Zaps triggering on new Google Sheet rows?

Hi! I hope someone can help me. I’ll try to be precise with my question as possible and will base it of steps.

STEP 1:

Trigger: Gmail

*receive new emails

Action: Google sheets

*put the data in the sheet

STEP 2:

Trigger: Google sheets

Action: Gmail

*send new email to the person from step 1

I have 8 more ZAPS that the trigger is mainly Google sheets and action is send email using GMAIL.

I have 11 columns (categorized) in my google sheet

Question: since the first trigger event (STEP 1) is to create a NEW ROW and the rest of the trigger events are NEW or UPDATED ROW. every time a NEW ROW is added in the sheet, it triggers all the ZAPS I created.

My concern is, every time a NEW ROW is added in the sheet, it triggers all of them. I don’t know what to do.

Hi @CCXzap

Help articles to review for using GSheets in Zaps: https://zapier.com/apps/google-sheets/help

You likely need to add a Filter as Step 2 in the Zap.

@CCXzap

An alternative approach is to use Airtable: https://zapier.com/apps/airtable/integrations

Airtable has Automation.

Airtable Automations have a native integration with Gmail.
