If we are connecting  to an application; that application needs and ID and Password.   If I need to change the password I will need to go into the zaps and update them.  Is there a different way to authenticate to applications that do no involve a standard id and password that is more flexible?

Hi @JoeZ .

Thank you for your question. I understand that you would like to update your Zapier password, and while you can do this through the Zapier settings, it's also possible to update all passwords associated with your apps. Alternatively, you may be able to manage authentication using an authentication application such as Okta. However, it's generally recommended to update passwords within the application itself.

Based on this, I would recommend changing the authentication for all associated Zaps first. This will allow you to use Zapier more securely. Please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.

Hi @JoeZ

Good question.

What is the name of the app you trying to connect to Zapier?

Hi @JoeZ

I see that you’re already working with one of our Support Specialists and they said,

Yes, that's correct. If login credentials of a linked app account used in a Zap are changed, the Zap will encounter authentication errors, and we'll be forced to stop by our system due to high error ratios.

I'm afraid that authentication for app integrations can't be changed since those are the authentications required by an app's developers for their API to integrate with third-party services like Zapier.

However, as Troy mentioned, may I know which app are you referring to?

Please continue working with our Support Specialist on this.
