I want to use Basecamp to create Wordpress blog posts. I have it working pretty well using the Basecamp “new document” trigger and the Wordpress “create post” app. Docs that only include text seem to work fine but if I include an image in the Basecamp doc it doesn’t appear correctly in Wordpress.
When Zapier gets the new doc information from Basecamp it includes a <bc-attachment> tag that has the <img> tag inside it. I can get the <img> tag out without a problem but the image still won’t display in Wordpress. It looks like Basecamp does some fancy HTTP redirect or something in the browser to turn the URL from something like this:
https://preview.3.basecamp.com/1111111/blobs/XXXXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX/previews/full
to something like this:
https://storage.basecamp.com/bc4-production-blob-previews/XXXXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX?response-cache-control=private%2C%20max-age%3D3155695200&response-content-disposition=inline&response-content-type=image%2Fpng&X-Amz-Algorithm=AWS4-XXXX-XXXXXX&X-Amz-Credential=XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX%2XXXXXXXXX%2Fus-east-1%2XXX%2Faws4_request&X-Amz-Date=2026&X-Amz-Expires=86400&X-Amz-SignedHeaders=host&X-Amz-Signature=XXXXXXXX
Does zapier have a way of performing this URL request? Or is there some way to convert this URL to the new form? Or maybe I’m approaching the problem all wrong and there is a better way to do this?
