Question

How can I append a new row below existing data instead of overwriting row 2?

My sheet has headers in row 1 and data filled through row 5. I’m using Zapier’s Create Spreadsheet Row to add new replies, but each new entry keeps landing in row 2. I want each new reply to go into row 6, then row 7, and so on. How can I force Zapier to append below row 5 instead of overwriting row 2?

Hi @Nikinzap

Help links for using GSheets in Zaps: https://zapier.com/apps/google-sheets/integrations#help

  • Make sure cell A1 has a value.
  • Make sure there are no hidden rows/columns.
  • Make sure there are no grouped rows/columns.

Hello @Troy Tessalone, Thanks for replying!

My first row (A) has column names and A1 cell has Serial number as value.
And the table has:
no hidden rows/columns and
no grouped rows/columns

Hi @Nikinzap,

Before we dig deeper into this, would you mind sharing a detailed screenshot of how your Zap is configured? Also, please share a screenshot of the Google Sheet action step in the CONFIGURE section that shows all of its fields.

Please don't include personal information in the screenshot, or be sure blur out any personal information.

Thanks!

@Nikinzap

Also, include screenshots showing the top 3 rows of your GSheet.

@Nikinzap

Try adding a value to the first column in the Zap step config.
