Hi guys.

Trying to figure out a content workflow and assumed Zapier would nail this but I am now not so sure. I need to figure it out in the next few days to prove its efficacy so my boss will pay for Zapier!

I have a content process between editor and writer that is time-sensitive.

Board A - master board with a template per “product”. They come in and get managed through our production process until live on the site. There is a template card and checklists. A lead oversees this and briefs work out

Board B  - A personal to-do board which has a “to-do” list for these types of products and a “done” for these types of products.

In an ideal world the workflow is as follows:

Template card created on Board A by the lead. She adds Checklist for writer.

Card added to Board B, to-do list. The writer starts working and checks off as they go. Ideally this would mirror to the list on Board A so the lead knows where they are in process. At minimum though I need then:

Card when finished by writer on Board B is then added to their “done” list.

Comment added to Board A to let the lead know this is ready for QA.

The second challenging part is that sometimes there is back and forth with QA comments and I’d love for these to be reflected across both but without card mirroring I can live without.

Ultimately I convinced my boss that we should get Zapier after seeing how pricey card mirroring is within Trello and wanting wider functionality like social etc. but ultimately I am now struggling to make this work. Even the checklists I am struggling to find ID for an not sure I can mirror across the two so they each tick off at once?

Basically can I save this in a smart way or am I bu***red?

Could there be a webhooks anything that can help at all?

Hi @kelz,

Welcome to the Community.

While Zapier has limitations in mirroring Trello cards between boards, workarounds can help streamline your workflow. For example, a Zap can create a card on Board B when a template card is added to a specific list on Board A and trigger updates like adding comments or checklist completions across boards. Though direct mirroring of checklists and comments isn't supported, Zaps can replicate updates by matching cards using names or unique identifiers. These steps help maintain synchronization across boards.

I hope this helps. Don't hesitate to contact us with further questions or need assistance.
