Hi team

I’m new to Zapier and currently trying to figure out how (if possible) I can set up two triggers. Working with a Podio > Google Sheets connection.

Trigger 1) When a new item is added in the Podio app

Trigger 2) When an old item is updated (any update on any item)

Or does the zap already execute on the second trigger automatically?

Much appreciated

I think I just realised the very simple answer of setting up the trigger as “New Action”. 🙂

However, will zap then create a new row if an “old” item is updated?

Essentially I need it to create a new row for every new item added. And update existing row when an item is updated.

Hey @Iliana!

Welcome to the community, glad you discovered that trigger!

The other option would be to have two Zaps with different triggers but taking actions in the same sheet!

To avoid creating new rows for old items you would need to add a search step to your Zap.

That would mean your Zap should look something like this:

  1. New Action
  2. Find or Create Row
  3. Update Row

Let us know how you get on with this, always happy to take another look if you run into any issues getting this up and running!
