We have a zap we are working on but sometimes, the input (which has a date the zap will be delayed until) is later than 31 days. Using delay by zapier doesn’t work for dates later than 31 days. Does anyone have any other recommendations? (Some of these dates are potentially three months in the future)
Use the dates to schedule meetings on Google calendar (or similar). Then trigger or run your actions based on the Google calendar meeting trigger.
Hi
You can use a lookup table as a queue to log the data.
You can then have another Zap that runs on a schedule daily to find records that match the desired date.
Thank you for the suggestion David! We have created google calendar events according to the dates we received and are creating a second zap which uses the google calendar block with the “Event Start” trigger. Do you have any tips on how to use that block? Does it run on its own every day to check for events?
Hey
If not, you might want to check out the guide here:
The Event Start trigger is a polling type of trigger so it regularly checks for new events (every 1, 2 or 15 mins depending on your Zapier plan). It would run at X amount of time before an event starts, as specified in the set up for the trigger. So if the first Zap creates an event in 6 months time, and the second Zap is set to trigger 15 minutes before the start of that event, the second Zap would trigger in 6 months time, 15 minutes before the event’s start time.
Hope that helps. Let us know if you still need any help!
