Creating a daily summary task in ClickUp for MarkUp.io comments

Is it possible to set up a Zap that creates a single task in ClickUp for new MarkUp.io comments, but only once every 24 hours?

For example, instead of creating a new ClickUp task for every individual MarkUp.io comment (which could result in hundreds of tasks daily), the Zap would check if any comments were made within the past 24 hours and create just one task summarizing that activity.

Hi @Tabathavm, welcome to the Community! 👋

In this case, you can use the Digest by Zapier app to append all comments that trigger the Zap throughout the day, then release the Digest every day at a specific time. This workflow requires two Zaps:

  1. First Zap triggers on MarkUp.io comments, then adds the comment to the Digest.
  2. Second Zap triggers on Schedule, every day at a specific time, releases the digest, then creates a ClickUp task with the content of the digest.

One possible limitation is that, if you are adding hundreds of comments a day, the content might surpass the limit of 25,000 characters per digest. An alternative would be to release the Digest when a certain number of digest items are added (Threshold).

Another option would be to add the comments to a spreadsheet app such as Zapier Tables or Google Sheets, including a date column, then run a Schedule Zap each day at midnight and search for the rows added during the previous day.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have questions.
