Hi there, our team is actively using Jira Product Discovery (JPD) for roadmap planning, and we’re looking for a way to connect JPD with Asana, where some of our downstream execution happens.

Right now, the only workaround we’ve found is:

  1. Exporting JPD Ideas into a Google Sheet using the Jira extension

  2. Using Zapier to import that data into Asana

It’s manual and brittle. We’d love to set up a Zapier automation that pushes new JPD ideas (or filtered ones) directly into Asana, similar to how you can do this with Jira Software.

Questions:

  • Is JPD support on the roadmap for Zapier?

  • Is there a workaround or API-based approach others are using in the meantime?

Hey @Jordan Cohen,

What exactly do you want to sync from Jira Product Discovery to Asana? If it’s just the ideas you may be able to use Zapier native integration as they are Jira issues under the hood or call their API if you see here- https://www.atlassian.com/software/jira/product-discovery/guides/integrations/overview#third-party. If you also want insights, they do have a public API that can help in retrieving those. You can use API request action in Zapier to call the API endpoints. Here is a helpful article about API request action-https://help.zapier.com/hc/en-us/articles/12899607716493-Create-an-API-Request-action

I can understand it can get a bit more technical and complex but if it’s important for you, you can try this approach. You can also put in feature by contacting the Zapier support here- https://zapier.com/app/get-help
