Hi,

I’m trying to create a simple Zap where Instagram posts create a new item in a collection list in Webflow, this works well and is pretty simple.

However, our website has multiple locales, and this Zap in particular, only works with the primary Locale, but ideally we want all posts to be published across all locales.

Is this possible?

Hi @EthanSuero,

I just came across your post here and wanted to check in here to see how you’re getting on. Were you able to post a newly created item in Webflow to multiple locales here?

Please do let us know if you’re still in need of some help on this at all - happy to assist further! 🤗

@ken.a I’m facing a similar issue trying to use Zapier to add a CMS item to all or specific locales on trigger. Is this possible and are you able to shed some light on how this can be achieved? Many thanks.

Hi @EthanSuero and @Audrey Ace Studio 👋

I did some checking and it seems there isn’t currently the abillity to specify a single or multiple locales when creating new items in Webflow. We’ve got a feature request open for the ability to set the locale so I’ve added your votes to that which will help to increase it’s priority. I can’t make any promises around when/if it will be added by but we’ll be sure to email you as soon as it is.

As a workaround, perhaps you could try using Webflow’s API Request action to create the item and specify the locales? It looks as though their Create Collection Items endpoint would be the one you’d want to use as it allows for items in a CMS Collection to be created across multiple locales. It’s a bit more of an advanced action since you’d need to reference Webflow’s API documentation but we have a generic guide on how to use API Request actions which you might find useful: Set up an API request action

Hope that helps. If you get stuck on setting that up or if there's anything else we can help with do let us know! 🙂

Thank you @SamB . I ended up using the API in the end and, though it took quite a bit of time, I got it to work. I’ll try to write up a little tutorial on Medium and link it here when I do. Hopefully it can help others stuck with the same issue until there is a more out of the box solution.

Thank you for looping back with an update here @Audrey Ace Studio! That sounds awesome! I'm sure a tutorial would be super helpful for others tackling the same issue. Great job on getting it to work with the API, and looking forward to reading your write-up when it's ready!
