You likely need to have a Filter as Step 2 in the Zap: https://zapier.com/apps/filter/help
What app would be used to send the email? (e.g. Gmail)
How does Slack come into play?

This is the use case
- A team member fills out a form on Asana
- The Asana form creates automatically a task in a specific project
- IF the project type is X, then
- Option 1: the assignee becomes Y
- Option 2: Y get an email OR a slack message about the fact that a new task has been created
How do you suggest to proceed?
