Which programming languages are best suited for creating custom zaps and complex automations in Zapier?

I've tried a few things with Shell before and I figured that if you break Zapier down to First Principles, the basics are pretty similar. 

I'm wondering which programming languages are the best to get 10x more out of Zapier and for which use cases they are suitable.
