I’m a big fan of Zapier and use it to automate many workflows. However, I’ve noticed that the Basecamp 4 integration doesn’t include a "New Card" trigger. This makes it impossible to automate tasks like creating a to-do list from a template when a new card is added.Does anyone have any experience or know someone that could help me create or add a "New Card" trigger for Basecamp 4? This would be incredibly helpful for users like me who rely on automation to streamline their workflows.Thank you for your consideration!

From the Basecamp 4 Webhook documentation it seems like “Cards” are not supported, thus why no “instant” trigger event is available.

That means the Basecamp 4 API would have to be used to get new Cards: https://github.com/basecamp/bc3-api

Hey JammerS! Thanks for checking in. Troy’s info seemed helpful, but in the end it didn’t work. After I failed to create the workflow with an API, I hired a professional programmer who specializes in Zapier to help. After a couple of hours, he refunded my money (I didn’t ask - he earned it in his exploration). Fingers crossed Basecamp4 will support a trigger on the creation of a new card OR allow the action to create a new card.

 

Zapier’s automation is a game-changer, but missing a New Card trigger for Basecamp 4 is definitely a hurdle. You might consider using webhooks or an API workaround to bridge the gap. Have you checked if Basecamp’s API supports this event? Maybe Zapier’s team could add it—especially with holiday hours in mind, automating workflows is more crucial than ever!
