I created a Zap  Stripe-Zapier-Flodesk with a trigger “new customer”. Trigger works if a new customer in Stripe created manually, but if the real order comes from a website (Squarespace) trigger doenst work and automation doesnt start. Im using secret key, not a test key. After dellting manually created customers, and tested a trigger received a message “We couldn’t find a customer”. Where could be problem?

Hi @Deena

The Stripe New Customer Zap trigger event is Scheduled, and depending on your Zap plan it can take from 1-15 minutes for the Zap to trigger.

@Deena

Make sure to check these as well…

No Data - All Payments/Customers/etc. Missing

Usually this is because a "test" key is used to connect Zapier to Stripe and payments/customers/etc. are created on the "live" account (or vice versa). The solution is to make sure to use the correct key!

Stripe Test Mode

We use Stripe API keys for authentication, so you can connect a Stripe account by using your Stripe "test secret key".

If you do that, you can trigger your Zap from transactions in your Stripe account which were created in test mode. Stripe's test card numbers only work in their test mode:
https://stripe.com/docs/testing#cards

However, if you connect to Stripe using the test secret key, your Zap will not trigger on any Live transactions in your Stripe account. To do that, you'd need to reconnect, or connect a new Stripe account, using your "live secret key" instead.

API

To locate your API Key in your Stripe account, please follow these steps:

Note

If you use a restricted key:

  • Its label may not be displayed properly on the Zap editor.
  • Ensure that the key has the correct permissions for the action you want to do.

Thanks Troy, I read these articles before, customer orders created manually trigger an automation, but real orders (on screenshots) do not. What a difference?

@Deena

Check your Zap Runs for clues: https://zapier.com/app/history/

  1. Did the Zap trigger?
  2. Did the Zap trigger, but error on a step?

@Troy Tessalone, yes, the Zap was triggered by manually creating new customers (for testing purposes) and data were successfully sent to flodesk without errors. but the orders that come to Stripe from the Squarespace did not trigger the Zap.

Might be best to open a ticket with Zapier Support for further assistance with troubleshooting: https://zapier.com/app/get-help

Troy Tessalone  thanks!
