Google drive access to MailChimp list

I’ve been trying to research and see if there is a way to use Zapier to connect a MailChimp list to provide those users with access to a Google drive folder. Looking to use a Zap to pass new MailChimp users to the Google drive permissions list. Not sure if this is even possible.

Any suggestions or thoughts would be appreciated.

Hi @MSDO

You may not need Zapier for this.

You could simply set the GDrive Folder Sharing permissions, then share the provided link.

Article: https://support.google.com/drive/answer/7166529?co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop&hl=en

GDrive has this available action: Add File Sharing Preference

BUT you cannot specify individual users as it’s based on the shared link for the Folder/File in GDrive.

Thanks for sharing Troy. I was aware of this way of sharing GDrive Folder Sharing permissions, but I was hoping to automate the permissions a bit.

Every time someone new signs up on our MSDO MailChimp list, I would have to email them the link, and I can’t remove people from accessing the Gdrive if they don’t renew their MSDO membership (so they will still be able to access files which is a membership benefit).

@MSDO

You may have to explore using the GDrive API for those requirements.

APIs can be leveraged via a Webhooks app step in a Zap: https://zapier.com/apps/webhook/integrations

NOTE: Webhooks and APIs are more advanced approaches to automations as they involve technical concepts.
