Encryption mechanism of environment variables on zapier

I wish to store some sensitive data in the environment variables to use in authentication flow. I’d like to know how does zapier stores these variables? Are these in some kind of vault or if there’s any security layer that protects these? What is the encryption mechanism for storing these variables.
