I am running a test with stripe where zapier should send a new email with relevant info after a new customer. The problem I’m running into is that for some reason, is that instead of sending the email to the customer, it’s sending it to me.

The in data takes the correct email, but for some reason the out data spits a different email.

Hi @Ashira

Make sure to test each Zap step again after changing a Zap trigger step example record to use.

This is happening to me too!! Its driving me crazy!! I have re-tested deleted and restarted, I can see that the right email is going in but its give back a different on! for a few steps. Why would this happen?

@APPHOTOGRAPHY and @Ashira

Try using a different email app to send the email. (e.g. Gmail, Outlook, etc.)

Thank you @Troy Tessalone for your reply!

@Ashira

so mine is not to send an email - I am trying to collect the data and add it to a database table in notion - my clients are working with many different vendors so I ave them fill out a google form to give me all the vendor info I need for about 15-25 vendors depending on event… I am pulling info with different vendor emails but it just keeps giving the same one…

please see photos below - it is showing that there is no data in this example and yet its giving back a different vendors email address.

@APPHOTOGRAPHY

Try turning the Zap ON and testing live.

Check your Zap Runs history details to see the DATA IN/OUT for each step to help you trace the data flow and troubleshoot: https://zapier.com/app/history/

@Troy Tessalone Thank you for helping me with this!!!

It wont let me go live with it -  I think maybe because I am also get a error saying “

Failed to find or create a database item in Notion

Nothing to search with. Please make sure at least one search field has a value.

I have a filter before each step though telling it to still run if it doesnt pull back any info… I will keep trying to get it to go live and keep you posted. Please let me know if you have any tips 🙂 Thank you again for your help!

Hi @APPHOTOGRAPHY,

Your Zap is failing to find or create a Notion database item because it lacks data to search. This error occurs when the fields used in the 'Find or Create Database Item' action are empty. To fix this, check if your trigger is pulling in data, ensure fields are mapped correctly, and verify that filters aren't preventing necessary data from being used. Reviewing your Zap setup in detail may help identify the problem if the issue persists.

I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions or need further assistance.
