I want an email to be sent to a user when a zap fails to run. The particular zap is a mysql-->API zap. When it fails, I would like to send the API response in an email to an  external user.

I was thinking to use Zapier manager for this:

Step 1: Set up trigger:

Step 2:

Test:

Here is where my problem is. It doesn't show my zap data, and therefore cannot continue to second step (outlook). Even though there are stopped messages, it does not pick it up when I click “Find new records”. It only shows example data.

Any suggestions?

Hi @hvl2

The example trigger record allows you to configure the Zap and get it turned ON.

Then you can test live and monitor your Zap Runs: https://zapier.com/app/history/

Hi @Troy Tessalone,

Thanks for your response. Thats not really a solutions to my problem…

Zapier has responded and it is indeed a bug. They have logged it but can’t give an indication of when it will be fixed.

Thanks anyway!

@hvl2

Some Zap app triggers only return representative data to allow you to configure your Zap action steps.

I wouldn’t count on waiting for this Zap app trigger to be fixed any time soon.

What’s preventing you from configuring the Outlook step with the sample data, then turning the Zap ON and monitoring the Zap Runs?
