Zapier Manager - New Zap Error trigger not firing

I tried creating a zap to send me a notification to Slack when a new error occurs. Zapier Manager “New Zap Error” event is not firing despite Zap Errors occurring. This has been set up to fire for all errors in a folder (the account and folder have been specified, but not the zap). When checking the Zap history, this is showing no runs in the past 30 days, however when checking the individual zaps in this folder, I can see errors that have occurred in this timeframe. I even created a zap that was broken and specified that particular zap in the trigger, yet the trigger for new error did not fire. Is this because this is a shared folder or a team account and the zap was created in a separate team? I have read everything i can find here but nothing seems to have given a solution for it.

Hey there @cosmocalifornie 👋

Sorry to hear the Zap isn’t triggering for errored Zaps like it should. I can see you also reached out to our Support team about this and they added you to a bug report where Zapier Manager isn't triggering reliably for folders/Zaps. As they mentioned, we can’t share an ETA on when it will be fixed, but you’ll get an email notification as soon as it’s resolved by our engineering team.

Really appreciate your patience while the team works on this. If there’s anything more I can help with in the meantime, just let me know.

And for anyone coming across this who’s having similar issues with the New Zap Error trigger, just comment here to let us know and we’ll get you added to the list of users being impacted by the bug.

Hey @cosmocalifornie,

Here is a helpful article about Zapier Mangaer- https://help.zapier.com/hc/en-us/articles/8496310892301-Manage-your-account-and-Zaps-with-Zapier-Manager

Referencing some of the points from the article-

  • If the Zap is in a Team or Enterprise account, error notifications will go to the user who created the errored Zap, not the user who set up the error notification Zap.
  • The New Zap Error trigger will not provide information about a specific task that errored. Errors are raised for Zaps, not for specific tasks.

Hope it helps!

Hi @cosmocalifornie

Check if you have auto replay turned ON, which would delay the Zapier Manager trigger from firing.
