I am creating a Zap that checks if email exists (utilizing Action event “Find User”) in a Zapier Interface managed users to create one if it does not exist.
In the scenario where the user has not been created yet I am getting the following error:
Failed to find a user in Zapier Interfaces
The app returned "Member could not be found.". Request ID: xxx
Thank you!

Hi @kgena
For us to have more info, post these screenshots:
how your Zap steps are outlined and configured in EDIT mode
the encountered error in the Zap step
Thank you, @Troy Tessalone .
I overcame the issue by adding error handling, as seen in the attached screenshot, but I am not sure if it is the recommended approach.
Would appreciate your thoughts.
@kgena
For us to have full context we would need to see screenshots with how your Zap steps are configured in EDIT mode with the field mappings visible.
You should be able to use the Find User step to be a Find/Create User by checking the check box to create user if not found.
Thank you, please see attached.
@kgena
Make sure to remove the extra fields. (screenshot)
@Troy Tessalone Thank you!

I’m receiving the same error and removed unused fields as well, but didn’t fix my issue. @Troy Tessalone
@ken.a Still received member not found error.
Hi @dawgnation,
The "member not found" error in Zapier occurs when it can't locate a specific member in your app. This could be due to an incorrect member ID or email, insufficient permissions, or an issue with the app's API. To resolve the issue, check the details, ensure proper permissions, and reconnect the app.
