Question

Zap works on some rows but not others

I’ve set up a zap to transfer a row of data from one sheet (Sheet 1) to another (Sheet 2) when two conditions are met. This is working fine most of the time, but I’ve noticed it sometimes misses rows, even though they meet the criteria and should have been transferred.

The criteria is that a specific value needs to be entered in one column and the date must be older than 6 months in another column. If both these conditions are met, then the zap should run. Could manipulating Sheet 1 - deleting rows etc. be the issue? The automation altogether works but it needs to work 100% of the time.

Hi @ElleCee

For us to have more info, post screenshots showing how your Zap steps are outlined and configured in EDIT mode with the field mappings visible.

Also, post screenshots showing the top 3 rows of your GSheet.

Hi @ElleCee, welcome to the Community! 👋

Could manipulating Sheet 1 - deleting rows etc. be the issue?

It could indeed! If you’re deleting rows or making any sort of structural change to a Google Sheet while the connected Zap is switched on then that can cause issues. If you do need to delete a row then it would be best to:

  • Turn off the Zap.
  • Delete the row.
  • Then turn the Zap back on again.

You can learn more about this here: Spreadsheet updates and maintenance.

Hope that helps. If you try the above, then add or update a row and it’s still not triggering can you send over some screenshots as Troy mentioned (with any private/sensitive information hidden/removed) and we’ll go from there! 🙂

Thank you. I’ll stop doing this and monitor the situation to see if that fixes it :)
