Hi @Couni007

Help links for using Microsoft Teams in Zaps: https://zapier.com/apps/microsoft-teams/integrations#help

Formatting messages

To mention a user, team, or channel in your messages:

  • User: Use <a> followed by their name, email, or ID.
    • Examples: <a>Jane Doe</a>, <a>jane.doe@example.com</a>, <a>jane-doe-user-id</a>
  • Teams: Use <a> followed by the team name.
    • Example: <a>Marketing Team</a>
  • Channels: Use <a> followed by the channel name.
    • Example: <a>general</a>

Thank you @Troy Tessalone  - though I was trying to tag ‘everyone’ in the Teams chat, rather than a particular person. For example, in a normal Teams chat (not Channel), if you type @Everyone it will tag all. Getting a zap to do this does not seem possible unless you either move the chat to a Channel (which I do not want to do) or individually list all chat members and tag separately….

@Couni007

It may be that the Microsoft Teams Zap app integration does not support @everyone.

You may have to explore using these options:

  • Custom Action
    • Create and configure with the help of AI
  • Action: Microsoft Teams - API Request
    • Ask ChatGPT for help with the API request

Hello @Couni007  This is a Microsoft Teams limitation, not a Zapier issue.

@Everyone (or @All) only works in channel messages, not in group or 1:1 chats. In chats, Teams ignores <at>Everyone</at>, even when the message is sent by Zapier.

Workarounds:
• Post to a channel if you need @Everyone
• Mention users individually by email or user ID
