Zap integration to Procore fails Create Project because project number issue

I am building a zap to connect Asana to Procore but the create project step is failing because of a bad or missing Procure project number which is supposed to be optional.

Error is “Error: O Y”

Project Unknown Object

… project you are trying to create in Procore is referencing a project ID that is not recognized or does not exist.

Hi @Steve Jones

Help us have more info by posting screenshots showing:

  • how your Zap steps is configured in EDIT mode in the CONFIGURE tab with the field mappings visible

@Steve Jones

Screenshot does not show the Procore “Project Number” field.

Please post screenshots for the Zap step in EDIT mode so we can see the field types.

TIP: Click field labels to see tooltips with more info.

Project Number is empty.  It is optional.

@Steve Jones

Click the field label “Project Number” to show the tooltip, then post a screenshot of that for us to have context.

Also, I confirmed I can manually create a project directly in Procore without providing a project number.

@Steve Jones

For the Zap Run, in the Run Details tab, check the Logs tab, which shows the underlying API request/response and might have more context about the error.

Check to make sure other Procore fields are configured correctly.

Most Zap app integrations are created and managed by the app developer using the Zapier Developer Platform.

  • You can try reaching out to Procore Support for help with their Zap app integration
  • You can try opening a ticket with Zapier Support: https://zapier.com/app/get-help

Per the Procore API docs, for a Project, the Project Number is optional.
