Zap Fails Trying to Add Members to Newly Created Slack Channel

I’ve created my very first Zap to do the following (see attached):

  1. Run on a specific day of the month
  2. Get the next month’s occurrence and format (e.g., July 18, 2024 → August 2024)
  3. Create a new, private Slack channel (my-channel-prefix-august-2024)
  4. Delay (I added this because I thought it might be needed for Slack to create the channel and return to Zapier)
  5. Invite specific members to the Slack channel ← fails here (Error from Slack: channel_not_found)

The channel is created but fails inviting the specified members. I’ve seen similar posts but they’re somewhat dated so the UI is different. Can anyone share their thoughts on what I can do to resolve this?

Many Thanks,

Paul

Hi @Paul T.

You do not need the Delay step.

You need to map the Channel ID from Step 3, rather than the Channel Name.
