I’m trying to reconnect a wordpress account, but when i do I get the following error.

I have the Zapier plugin installed and activated.
Whats strange is one other account from the wordpress site is connected, but the other 3 are not.

Can anyone help with correcting this error?

Thanks!

Thanks. I tried all the things listed and it didn’t work.
But it did work after deleting all the connections that wouldn’t reconnect and adding them back in one by one.

Thanks for popping back in here to share how you solved this @kylemcdesign! 🤗

Really pleased you were able to get things working by re-adding each connection one at a time. Sounds like you’re all set for now but please do reach back out in the Community again if you need any help in future.

In the meantime, happy Zapping! ⚡️

Hi, we are getting the same error when I try to connect to our WordPress site.  Our goal is to use Zapier in our WordPress site with WP Forms plugin.

We hit an error adding your new account

authentication failed: The Zapier WordPress plugin has not been activated on this WordPress site. Please install and activate it first: https://zapier.com/help/doc/how-get-started-wordpress-zapier.

  1. Make sure you click "Allow" or "Accept" on the permission popup
  2. Double check your Account has the correct permissions
  3. Check out our help docs for more information

I’ve tried the following:
-1.  deleted the step + re-added

-2. Turned off all security plugins

-3. Added a new admin user to use it’s credentials

-4. Ensured plugin is activated » shows API key and URL for configuration

Please advise.

Hi @sandyLACC,

We apologize for the inconvenience, but have you tried the method of @kylemcdesign to find out how it was fixed?

Hi @JammerS , yes, started over on the connection….did not help things.

Is there still a known issue with multi-site configurations not working?
We may be in the same boat, as our site we’re working with is part of a multi-site configuration.

Hi @sandyLACC,

If you're using a self-hosted multisite installation with our WordPress CLI integration, the Zapier for WordPress plugin should be activated for each site individually. Without this step, Zapier won't receive the secret key needed to establish a WordPress account connection.

Here's what you can do:
1. Visit each site on your multisite network.
2. Activate the Zapier for WordPress plugin individually for each site.
3. Create separate WordPress auths for each site.

For more information on how to activate plugins on a WordPress multisite network, you can refer to this article: https://gravitymore.com/blog/how-to-activate-plugins-on-your-wordpress-multisite-network/

Hi @ken.a , I have verified the plugin is activated on our main site and 2 sub-sites.
We are still unable to connect Zapier to the needed sub-site.

Please advise.

Thanks for the update here @sandyLACC,

Do you have the WordFence plugin installed in your WordPress instance? If so, could you disable the plugin and attempt to connect once more?

I'll be keeping an eye out for your response!

We don’t have this plugin

I’m having this same problem. No Wordfence, plugin showing as activated but getting the same error message as above when I try to connect from Zapier.

Hello everyone,

You may try to disable any plugins first then try to manually connect WordPress. Let us know if this helps you clear out the error message.

Hi @JammerS , yes...we’ve gone through that step of disabling plugins...didn’t help

Hi @sandyLACC,

Unfortunately, I have exhausted my resources regarding the issue that you’re running into. I recommend reaching out to our Support Team to take a closer look at this one since they have the correct tools to look at the logs and the Zap.

You can reach our Support Team here: https://zapier.com/app/get-help

I appreciate your patience and understanding.
