Hi,

Not sure if this is the rigth forum but let’s start here. I am trying to connect the Wordpress app and i have installed the Zapier for Worpress plugin in Wordpress. But when trying to connect i get this error message and the Pop Up “Allow or Accept” is not to be found (does not appear). I have emptied all caches in Wordpress after istalling the plugin.

Any ideas what i could try to fix this problem?

Hello,

Thank you for your support. I tried in incognito mode and i was able to connect one of our domains but not another one. We operate in a multisite environment and i was able to connect it to our .com site but not to our .fi site.

What could be the reason for this?

Hi @MySpeaker,

If you're using a self-hosted multisite installation with our WordPress CLI integration, the Zapier for WordPress plugin should be activated for each site individually. Without this step, Zapier won't receive the secret key needed to establish a WordPress account connection.

Here's what you can do:
1. Visit each site on your multisite network.
2. Activate the Zapier for WordPress plugin individually for each site.
3. Create separate WordPress auths for each site.

For more information on how to activate plugins on a WordPress multisite network, you can refer to this article: https://gravitymore.com/blog/how-to-activate-plugins-on-your-wordpress-multisite-network/

Hi,

Thanks for the reply and tips. I had the same idea and tried that already. Unfortunately the Plugin can only be installed and activated as Network Admin and when you visit each site (as an admin), the plugin can not be altered. Neither can you install any plugins separately on the sites, only on Network level.

I suppose i need to get in touch with the developer to get this working on our other domains than .com which is btw the Main Site.

Hi there, @MySpeaker! 👋

It looks like Network Activate was used so to be able to activate it on each site individually you’d need to click the Network Deactivate link to first disable the plugin across all the sites:

Then from the Sites section, navigate to the individual site(s) that you want to activate the plugin on and then head to the Plugins page for that site. From there you should be able to enable the Zapier for WordPress plugin individually.

Can you give that a try and let us know how it goes?

Hi,

Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately, as i tried to explain earlier, i am only able to install Plugins as Network.
When i log in to indiviudal sites (as admin) there is not the possibility to install plugins. Hense i probably need to contatc our dveleoper and ask them to install the plugin on each site separately.

This clearly a setup issue on our side and i am sure the plugin will work just fine once i get it on each site separately.

Thank you all for your support.

Ah, I see. Thanks for clarifying that @MySpeaker! I looked into it and you’re right, it seems only user accounts with Super Admin level access on a WordPress multisite would be able to install plugins.

I’d recommend also (just as a general precaution) to ask your developer to upgrade your account’s permissions to the Super Admin level so that you have full access and control of each site. Or, if not you, then at least have someone at your company with that level of access in case you need to make an urgent change requiring that level of access while the developers are unavailable (like over the holidays etc.).

Please do keep us updated on how you get on with this, keen to ensure you’re all set! 🙂
