I have set up a Zap that sends an email from my gmail account once a squarespace form is triggered. In the email, all of the answers in the form show up correctly except for the name of the user, which remains blank. I have no idea why it remains blank as it is set up the same as the other answers

Hi @cianreidlawd

For live Zap Runs, check the Zap Run history to see the DATA IN/OUT for each step to help you trace the data flow and troubleshoot: https://zapier.com/app/history/

Post screenshots to give us more info.

Hi Troy,

Thanks for your response.

I’ve taken a look at that and the data sent from the squarespace form is perfect but the data received by Gmail is blank in the name section. I’m not sure what happens in the middle that causes this. In the configure step, it shows an error message for the name answer but I’m not sure how to get more info?

I’ve attached screenshots of the data.

@cianreidlawd

Try this guide to get an existing Zap Run to be used as a Zap trigger example so you can reconfigure the Zap action step.

https://help.zapier.com/hc/en-us/articles/35632951078029-Use-previous-Zap-runs-as-trigger-test-records

This screenshots indicates the mapped variable does not exist in the Zap Run from the trigger step.

This screenshot shows a different formatting “First/Last Name” than the above screenshot “Name”.

Hey @cianreidlawd 👋

Just came across this and wanted to check how you got on with Troy’s suggestions - did they do the trick?

Please let me know how it went, want to make sure you’re all set! 🙂
