I have created a zap between Swapcard and Brevo. Purpose : unsbscribe from a Brevo list any new person in a swapcard event.
The zap runs perfectly in test mode, but not in automation.
Any suggestion?

Thanks

Hi @Gneslo

Check your Zap Runs history details to see the DATA IN/OUT for each step to help you troubleshoot: https://zapier.com/app/history/

For us to have more info, post these:

Hi @Troy Tessalone,

Thanks for your feedback, please find the steps in the doc. The test is running fine data in and out are ok in test mode but nothing happen in automation mode. Data out do not appear in screen but were ok as the contact was unsubscribe from Brevo list. I have regenerate 3 times the zap and on time with copilote. This is driving me crazy :(

Many thanks for your help what ever the results will be :)

@Gneslo

PDF contains 0 screenshots related to live Zap Runs from here: https://zapier.com/app/history/

There is no screenshot showing the DATA OUT from Zap step 2 in the Zap EDIT mode.

By chance a new person registerd in Swapcard today.

I checked and she has not been deleted from Brevo

I went through the zap to test it again with this new contact

The test was successful Doris was unsubscribe from Brevo see the pdf for all steps + data in  data out

You will also see the history that does not mention the actaul zap created on the 16th, but only one created ont the 14th that I have deleted.

Hope it will help

@Gneslo

If there Zap is not triggering to run, then it could be due to one of these:

  • Swapcard Zap app connection
  • Swapcard account permissions/settings
    • Check with Swapcard Support
  • Person did not match the Event selected in the Zap trigger
    • Could be due to how you tested

The Zap is running now, but an error occured

Zap purpose is to manage attendees to an event.
Attendees register with Swapcard and they receive invitation through Brevo. When a new attendee is created in Swapcard, he must be unsubscribe from Brevo.

There are 3 possible cases:
1- the new person in Swapcard exists in the Brevo list and has an email address in both lists
2 - the new person in Swapcard is not present in the Brevo list but has registered for the event through other means
3 - the new person in Swapcard has no email in either Swapcard or Brevo
Obviously, case 3 creates an error in Zap, but for case 2 I don't know yet, and I don't know whether case 1 will be executed in automation.
But the zap runs that’s a first step
Do you know how to handle cases 2 and 3? How could I introduce conditions to avoid an error ? I'm at a loss.
Thanks

See the Zap run history

@Gneslo

Error indicates no email address was provided for Zap step 2 in this specific Zap Run.

Check the Zap Runs history details to see the DATA IN/OUT for each Zap step to help you troubleshoot: https://zapier.com/app/history/

You can add a Filter as Zap step 2 to make sure an email address exists.

But as sometimes email adress does not exist how can I manage this?

@Gneslo

You can add a Filter as Zap step 2 to make sure an email address exists.

OK I try tomorrow .

Thanks from Paris ;)

Hi @Gneslo,

Please keep us in the loop for this one. So we can troubleshoot further if needed. If you have further questions, please don't hesitate to ask. Thank you.

@JammerS Despite @Troy Tessalone help the zap does not run in automation only in test mode.

I have been facing this issue for a week now. Neither Brevo, nor Swapcard can provide any help.

Could you please help identify what is going wrong with the Zap.

It seems to be running in a certain way, as yesterday I created a new person in Swapcard without email address and the Zap was stopped !

Today I set up a filter, created a new person without email address and I no error occured.

However, new people with an e-mail address are not unsubscribed from the Brevo list.

I'm throwing in the towel, unless I get help ! 🙏 😓

@Gneslo

For us to have updated info, post updated screenshots with how your Zap steps are outlined and configured in EDIT mode.

Also, post screenshots from your Zap Runs history details showing the DATA IN/OUT for each step for 2 examples: https://zapier.com/app/history/

  • Zap Run w/ error
  • Zap Run w/ success

If you are looking to hire help, there is a directory of Certified Zapier Experts: https://zapier.com/experts

@Troy Tessalone I don’t intend to hire help right now, I think it could be a bug somewhere, I wish I could get help from one of the 3 apps . Something might have happened since the 14th as the zap is not running as it should be. so here is the run history.

I also post the screenshots of the zap steps even if the filter is the only change that have been made since the beginnig of our conversation.

What I need to understand it is why the zap is trigering in test mode and not triggering live. Tere might be several reasons I can test them all if someone give my clues.

Thanks

@Gneslo

The screenshots from the Zap Runs shows an older Zap Run using a version of the Zap that did not have a Filter as Zap step 2.

Since you added the Filter as Zap step did, have there been any Zap Runs with errors?

If yes, then post screenshots showing the DATA IN/OUT from individual Zap Runs with errors from here: https://zapier.com/app/history/

You can click on an individual Zap Run to see the details about each step.

This is where you would get the screenshots showing the DATA IN/OUT to help use have more info.

@Gneslo

If the Zap is not triggering as expected from Swapcard, then I recommend reaching out to Swapcard Support.

Most Zap apps are created and managed by the app developer using the Zapier Developer Platform.

So it would likely be on Swapcard to address and issue with their app or with the Zap app integration.

Hi @Troy Tessalone

I reached out Swapcard and they find ou why it was not triggering. Now the zap should run properly. I am not really able to explain what was going wrong, but it was related to a hook on their side. It has been fixed, but they are going to explore more. Data in were called in the test but not in published mode.
If someone else face the same problem it is on Swapcard side.

Thanks for your help.

Hi @Gneslo,

Wow! Thank you for confirming that it was a Swapcard issue and got the Zap running. This will significantly help our Community members to have as a reference for the same issue.
