Why can I not set up a LinkedIn trigger?

I am trying to set up a trigger so that when I post to my company account on LinkedIn it sends an automated message to a Slack channel.

Does anyone know why it says ‘No trigger available’ ?

Is this because I am using the free version of Zapier?

Hi there @CaraNoonan,

Unfortunately, there are no available trigger for the LinkedIn app. However, we have an existing feature request for the “New Post” trigger. I have added you to the feature request. That does a few things:

  • Bring this to the attention of the integration developers
  • Help track interest in this feature being implemented
  • Allows us to notify you via email if this feature becomes available in the future

While I don't have an ETA on when this feature might be implemented, we will notify you via email if it is!

In the meantime, you can stay in the loop/follow along with updates on the main thread here:

Hopefully, this helps.

Hi @CaraNoonan

The Linkedin Zap app has 0 trigger events available, thus why the LinkedIn Zap app cannot be used as Zap step 1.

Hi @Troy Tessalone, thanks so much for answering my question.

Oh I see, that makes sense then.

Do you know if there is a work around I can do to still achieve this? Or is it an impossible task?

@CaraNoonan

If you used a Zap action to make the LinkedIn update, then you could follow that with a Slack step.
