Why are Google Analytics 4 events showing outdated timestamps?

When I try to pull the latest three events from Google Analytics 4 to test, the events are definitely not recent - one has a createtime from the year 2021!  Our GA4 account didn’t even exist then!

Hi there @JasonNA,

Welcome to the Community! 🎉

I did some digging into this, and it seems like this is a known bug with the Google Analytics 4 integration. Our team is aware of the issue and is working on a fix. I've added your email address as another affected user. That does a few things:

  • Bring this to the attention of the integration developers
  • Help track and prioritize fixes
  • Allows us to notify you via email if/when this is fixed

Unfortunately, I do not have an ETA, but I’ve added you to the list of users affected by this issue so we can let you know as soon as we have any updates.

Thank you for our patience and understanding.

Plus one for me too.

@ken.a How is his trigger supposed to work?

Does it fire when:

(a) a new conversion event is added to GA4 (e.g. I change click the slider in GA4 to make an event into a conversion event)

or

(b) a user on my website triggers a conversion event (e.g. a user makes a purchase or submits a form)

Hi there @edwalzak,

I have added you as another affected member to the bug report. We will let you know via email once the bug has been fixed.

Regarding your question about the Google Analytics 4 “New Conversion Event” trigger. I haven’t used Google Analytics 4 personally, but I believe this trigger will fire regardless of how the event is added to Google Analytics 4.

Hopefully, this helps!
