We switched from Mailchimp to Klaviyo and I’m having trouble setting up my zap.

Goal: User subscribes to a list in Klaviyo send a survey from SurveyMonkey.

I had this set up using Mailchimp just fine.

But I can’t find the list I want to target in my Klaviyo options.

Am I supposed to subscribe to the list and then find that subscriber through my test? Is that how it works? This feels less clear than the mailchimp set up.

I appreciate any guidance anyone has…

Hi @The Playmaker Project

Good question.

The field shown in your screenshots is a Metric.

Which Klaviyo Action are you trying to use?

Try this Zap action which lets you find/create subscriber and set the List.

I want to use Klaviyo as an event.

So when JSmith@website.com subscribes to my list “This List Right Here” that is the trigger

that sets the Zap in motion.

Also I totally acknowledge I’m not using the right words… but

I was able to successfully set up a similar zap.

When person subscribes to email list in Mailchimp, then SurveyMonkey sends that user an email survey.

@The Playmaker Project

You would likely need to configure a Flow in Klaviyo that sets a specific event once a user subscribes to a Klaviyo List in order to trigger the Zap.

Would a filter not work?

@The Playmaker Project

You can add a Filter, but that is probably a wasted Task since you can define the Klaviyo Metric in the Zap trigger step.

The Metric options for Klaviyo were super limited and you couldn’t specify which list.

I don’t understand why the Klaviyo Zap is so wildly different than the Mailchimp one. In Mailchimp I could easily select the audience.

When User subscribes to Audience Y do this.

@The Playmaker Project

Try this Klaviyo Flow example.

Zap trigger: Webhook - Catch Hook

This will generate a unique webhook URL to configure in the Klaviyo Flow.
