When someone buys offer on ThriveCart the offer isn’t granted to them in Kajabi

Hi there, so I set up a zap using Thrivecart and Kajabi. Its super simple → when someone buys offer on thrivecart→ Zap to kajabi and grant offer - DONE.

The first part was easy to set up but once it got to the second part where I have to configure the offer, member name, email etc. I only get the option of putting it the name/email/info of a previous Customer. Thinking it’s just being used as an example ( since there was no option of just putting in gerneric Customer email ) I continued only to realize once I’ve completed that I actually granted her the offer?! Does Zapier not propagte the infomation once someone buys the offer? How am I supposed to know the name and email of some unknown customer to be? I am confused and angry that something so simple is made so complicated…

It’s my first Zap that I created so I’m sure I’ve missed something but still, very annoying.

Hi there @Act-Bold,

It looks like the trigger is not returning the name info of the customer. Could you please confirm if the name info is in ThriveCart itself?

I'll be keeping an eye out for your response!

Hi @Act-Bold

Help link for configuring Zap action steps to map dynamic variables between steps using the ‘Custom’ option.

For us to have more info, post screenshots with how your Zap steps are outlined and configured in EDIT mode.

@Act-Bold

Screenshot shows dynamic variables mapped to the Kajabi fields.

That means each time the Zap is triggered to run the variable values will dynamically change.

With the Zap turned ON, check the Zap Runs history details to see the DATA IN/OUT for each Zap step to help you trace the data flow and troubleshoot: https://zapier.com/app/history/

Okay, thank you. So it’s pretty much just a placeholder? But when I then went into kajabi I actually gave the person access… So It did go through not only as a placeholder, but actually read the data and continued giving access to a person who hasn't bought the course

@Act-Bold

A dynamic variable has a value.

In your screenshot the variable name is: Customer’s Email

In your screenshot the variable value is: BLACKED OUT

When you test a Zap step it uses the data from the previous step.

In this case, it uses the data from the Zap trigger step example record you selected.

For Zaps that are turned ON, check your Zap Runs history details to see the DATA IN/OUT for each step to help you trace the data flow and troubleshoot: https://zapier.com/app/history/

If needed, you can add a Filter step to the Zap: https://zapier.com/apps/filter/help

Hi Sam,

I thought so but then I did a test run after I’ve received a pretty angry email from a customer still waiting on their product! Someting is not working and it’s on your end… If the value is dynamic, then why am I now getting the following error message : “this Kajabi Step hit an error. Required field “Member Name” (name) is missing”???

I thought it updated with each persons data since its dynamic?

The way it’s set up is that someone has to put in their full information ( Full Name, email & Payment info) to buy the course via thrivecart. My understanding was that Zapier then takes that information and translates it back to Kajabi? Is that what you mean? I’d also prefer a quicker method of interacting with a Zapier staff member since it’s been 6 days since I asked my question and it still hasn’t been resolved. I’d be able to either jump into a chat with someone directly or jump on a call.

@Act-Bold

Check your Zap Runs history details to see the DATA IN/OUT for each Zap step to trace the data flow and troubleshoot.

https://zapier.com/app/history/

Post screenshots showing the DATA IN/OUT for each step in a Zap Run that had an error/issue.
