Question

Updating only 1 field of a Salesforce record

I have a multi step Zap that creates a salesforce record and populates 90% of the information in the first action.

the following 2 actions create data that we then want to update on the record created in the first action of the zap.

It’s now asking me to populate all those fields (again). Is there a way to use the update record action to ONLY update 1 field?

Hi @ABAR

Good question.

Only required fields (or conditionally required fields) need to be populated in an action step.

Hi Troy thanks for the reply here.

When I pull up the update record action it still has all the fields blank. My concern is that I need to re populate all those fields.

Is there a way to update only specific fields and leave all the others as is?

@ABAR

Only the required fields must be populated to update a record.

Other fields are optional for you to populate.

When in doubt, test it out!
