I wrote a Zap to monitor Stocktwits. Here is the outcome:

  • Posts by Symbol works fine.
  • My Posts did not work. Yes, I did create a new post after the zap was created to test the trigger. Multiple tests.
  • New Posts by User also did not work. Multiple users tested who had new posts.

I think the issue is that Zapier monitors https://stocktwits.com/search?q=<username> whereas it should monitor https://stocktwits.com/<username> .

If I am doing something wrong, please provide feedback.

If there is a bug in the interface with Stocktwits, please tell me when it will be fixed.

If there is a way to monitor the link manually via Zapier, please let me know.

Lastly, if there is no way to resolve this in Zapier, what would be the way to do it outside Zapier?

Hi @Chadron. Welcome to the Community! 👋

I’m not 100% sure what they are using to monitor new posts by specific users, but it sounds like it could well be a bug with the My Posts and New Posts triggers. I did some checking on this end but couldn’t find any existing bug reports for this behaviour and I’m unable to open a bug report on your behalf. So I’d suggest reaching out to the Support team via the form here: https://zapier.com/app/get-help - select the Report a bug or request a feature option:

That’ll ensure it gets routed to the right folks so they can investigate further and open up a bug report for this on your behalf.

In the meantime if the Stocktwits API supports it, perhaps you could try subscribing to new webhook events for new user posts using Webhooks by Zapier as the trigger app instead. It’s a more advanced feature (available paid plans only) but if that’s something you’d be interested in exploring you can learn more here: Trigger Zaps from webhooks

I’m not certain how this would be done outside of Zapier but hope the above helps to get you pointed in the right direction. Please do keep us updated on how you get on with this!
