Troubleshooting Gmail trigger not reading emails from a table
HI
I am trying zap action to send email from a table but it is does not read it
the table is connected to google form also does not read the field from google form
only respondent email but my form does not require signing in to submit
what am I doing wrong?

It is not working because you are not mapping a valid email in the To step, kindly add a valid email instead of text “sample text question”, If possible add validation in your form for the email field. Review screenshot.

I am not sure why the trigger does not read the 1st entry in the table with full field
i will try to redo it and hope it work

Could you please share how you configured the zapier table step (2nd Step), as well as the image of how you set up the table?

google form to zap table no problems

action: (create record)
I tied to use cap letter and I added the email original field type as shown above try to find the misconnection but same did not work
I tried with google sheet but still cannot pull the email from table or g-sheets to my gmail send email action
even tried to get all fields testing same
but,
if I add the same field twice in a separate raws,
test:
it works. but I dont not why.
also the email is sent once only not twice. the action reads 1 field only

I tested other email fields from g-forms or tables ( text field type) but did not work
google form respondentEmail field works but as I mentioned above my application is public and does not require signing in

From what I understand, you have set up your zap as follows, 1. Google Form (Trigger - New Submission). 2. Zapier Table (Append Data in Table - Create Row).
3. Send Email (Gmaill).
If this is your setup then in the gmail step you can use the output of email from the 1st step i.e (Google Form Submission) and map that email in Gmail Step.
FYI to get a row from Zapier Table you will have to use the Find Record in Zapier Table, select a column based on which you can lookup, e.g: you can use record Id as a lookup column in this case and pass the output id of Record Created.

I did try to use email field from google sheet but same error.
right now it shoes error but I receive an email which is weird. but I am going to try different setup by break it into 2 separate zaps. for testing only

Hi @Mishal Ali,
It looks like the Tables field currently contains placeholder data rather than a real email address. I’d recommend skipping the action steps for now, publishing the Zap, and then doing a live run to see if everything works as expected in a real scenario.

indeed it works. even it shows error to fetch the email field from tables or from google forms
somehow when add the email twice, separate lines, worked, but now shows error
everything works fine with the error message. I do receive an email for. the trigger works

thank you for your time trying to help
I deleted everything and started from scratch and now it works
google form to google sheets to gmail send email
before, the sending email step could not read from the table or sheet or the form.
even the email is sent with the testing error in the setup
now the action works fine even when I added the action to send the submission into new sheet.
I will duplicate it and testing different setups and app just to ensure and understand more options
