Troubleshooting Excel row additions to SharePoint through Zapier

I am trying to write multiple rows to an Excel file on Sharepoint.  The Sharepoint user has full control of the Sharepoint site.  The Zapier integration creates the Excel file in the folder on the Sharepoint site, as well as writes the headers to the sheet.  I have a Zapier table to hold transient data.  When I use the in-use variable of the file name and try to add rows from that table, it does not find the sheet (I think).  It gives me the error message “The resource could not be found”.  On ocassion, I get “App returned “invalid request”.  If I reconnect to sharepoint in the Test Run mode, the sheet information comes up and the data fields can be mapped to my variables.  When I retest the step, it will write to the file on Sharepoint.  So, somewhere between the two steps the file name and sheet name seem to get lost.  Help!

Hey @lhawkins1972,

Please post screenshots of Data In, Data Out as well as how each Zap is configured for us to have more context.

Here are some of the troubleshooting you can try-

Hope it helps!

here are the screenshots.  I create the file on Sharepoint.  this works great!

I then can create a worksheet and columns with the output.    Here is the output.

I can then create a worksheet, and even delete the first sheet, “sheet1”.  When it gets to the step that writes the rows as line items, it does not write at all.

Here is the full zap (sorry, its small).  I had paths for error handling.  I took those out as I thought it might be the problem, but this straight flow does not work.  It does all steps and then says the last step is successful, but comes up with a blank sheet with headers and the right sheet name.  If I re-test the step, it will right to the file.  But, not after the previous two steps.

I thought about doing a loop, but my understanding is the excel zap will handle line items.  Why is it not writing to the sharepoint file???

Hey @lhawkins1972,

I can’t see how your Zap item how your Zap is outlined. I think add the loop as it’a free action so it doesn’t hurt. Right now it’s hard to say what exact thing is not working as the screenshots are not complete.

But I suspect there might be some problem with the logic where you are writing rows from line items. Please double check its logic. Hope it helps!
