Troubleshooting email summaries from industry news workflow in Zapier
Hello,
I have created a zap workflow to search for industry news and create a summary of the news and send it per email. it is a simple few-steps-workflow. after correcting alot of errors, the test finally run smoothly with no errors, and I published it.
However, I don’t receive any e-mails summarizing the news as the workflow is supposed to do. The RSS feed works and i get the list of articles. So the workflow should receive the feed form RSS. the part of the chatgpt summarizing it and creating the email seems not working. but no errors so i can’t guess what is wrong.
Did any of you had this in the past? I would appreciate any input, suggestion what could be the issue or sharing your experience and how you solved it.
Thank you!

Hi @EMM
For us to have more info, post screenshots showing how your Zap steps are configured in EDIT mode with the field mappings visible in the CONFIGURE tab.
The RSS step you are using creates an Item an in RSS feed.
We just wanted to see how everything is going with your Zap. Did Troy's recommendation get the job done? Feel free to reach out if you need further assistance with your Zap. We're glad to address any concerns and assist you.
We're looking forward to your response.
Hello,
I am currently receiving e-mails but not exactly what I am looking for. it basically sends few lines of information but not article links or summary of the articles as I wanted to do. i am trying to adjust the chatgpt prompt too to see if it solves the issue.
I will try the proposed steps.
Thank you!
Also the links I get sent per e-mail are either not opening or not correct. is this an error then from the chatgpt prompt or workflow steps?
thank you in advance for your advice
Hi @EMM,
You're building a workflow where ChatGPT generates email content with article links and summaries. To troubleshoot, ensure your prompt asks for summaries and links, and verify that the input includes the correct data. Check that the output is correctly mapped to your email step and that the links are accurate and functional. Use sample data to test the flow, review Zapier logs for errors, and consider refining the prompt or using other tools to fetch summaries before involving ChatGPT. If issues persist, reach out to Zapier Support for the full details.

Thank you for your reply.
I am working on adjusting the prompt.
as for the Zapier logs of errors, I am actually passing all the step tests, no errors given. That is why it makes it even harder to solve the issue, as it is not known.
Hi @EMM,
It's frustrating when everything passes in testing but doesn't work live—let's troubleshoot it. Start by checking your Zap history for errors or failed tasks during runs. Review each step to ensure fields are correctly mapped and data formats match expectations. Test with real data, not just samples, and confirm your app connections are still authorized. Double-check that all conditions are set up correctly if you're using filters or paths. Also, review the app documentation for any quirks. If the issue persists, contact Zapier Support with full Zap details for deeper help.

OK thank you for your reply. I will see how many more hours i can invest in this troubleshooting and then contact Zapier Support.
Hi @EMM,
Thanks for your patience. Setting up complex automations can be tricky, and I appreciate your efforts. If you reach out to Zapier Support, include a clear description of the issue, steps you’ve already taken, relevant screenshots or videos, and details about your Zap’s setup (triggers, actions, filters). If emails are involved, sharing redacted examples can help clarify the problem and speed up support.
