Troubleshooting email digest issues in Zapier

Hi all and thanks in advance for the help. I’m attempting to create a Zap that 1) pulls data from an RSS feed 2) combines this data into a digest and 3) sends this digest to myself via email. I’ve tried seemingly every combination of this (RSS by Zapier vs Feedly, digest that runs hourly, daily, based on threshold, etc., running the digest to include different fields from the RSS feed, etc.). No matter what I do, everything works perfectly during the tests but doesn’t work after I’ve published it.

As seen below, the test email comes just as I would expect. The idea is that the digest will include all the URLs in the feed. I will refine this later, but for now this is fine.

After publishing, I see the following. As seen, the task number is 0, which is the first indicator something has gone wrong.

I’ve troubleshot it and believe the issue comes down to the yellow exclamation in the body field. I can’t figure out how there is an issue with this, however, as the digest seemingly ran correctly.

Data In
Data Out

Is there potentially something wrong with the data out piece? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hi @drewbev

Thanks for the screenshots as they help me visualize the Zap in question! I believe you’re on the right track with the yellow outline. This usually indicates that the data that was expected is either missing or has been modified.

Can you please show me the Data In and Out for Step 2 of this particular Zap run? Having this will help me confirm that the article did make it to the Digest as expected. If there’s any personal information, please take care to censor that information before posting.

Thank you,

I started to see similar Digest issues like you observed.  After many months of stable performance all of the sudden the Digest Out began referring to things like Hoist and Hydrate, as you mentioned.  This seemed to morph into further issues and now all of my Digests are stalling.  Glad to see I am not the only noting an issue though!

Hi @DNMI,

If you're seeing "Hoist" or "Hydrate" errors in your Zapier Digests, it likely means there's an issue with how data is being fetched or used. Digests may stall if they’re waiting for more items, if the trigger isn’t sending data, or if there’s a platform issue. To troubleshoot, check your Zap history for errors, turn your Zap off and on, or recreate it. If the issue persists, contact Zapier support for further assistance.

I hope this helps, and I'm sorry for any inconvenience this has caused. We appreciate your patience as we work to resolve this issue.
