I'm running into an Alexa-Asana integration issue. When I try to use the follow-up phrase feature, Alexa says "Oops, I ran into a problem" after prompting for the task name.

Has this bug been fixed yet, or do you know of any workarounds?

Here's what's happening on my end:

  • The Zap triggers successfully
  • With follow-up phrase enabled: Alexa asks "Task name?" but then gives the "Oops" error when I respond
  • Without follow-up phrase: It just sends whatever static text is in the "Task name" field instead of what I actually say

What I want is to either say "Create a task in Asana called 'feed the dog'" all at once, or have Alexa ask for the task name and then actually use what I tell it.

Did the developers ever resolve this, or have you found a way to make it work properly? Any guidance would be really appreciated!

Hello,

I am Patricia, from the Zapier Support team. Thank you for getting in touch! I’ll be glad to look into your request today.

From what I understand, you're using the Alexa-Asana integration and running into issues with the follow-up phrase feature—specifically, Alexa prompts for the task name but then returns an error, and without the follow-up phrase, it only sends static text. You're hoping to either speak the full command at once or have Alexa use your spoken input correctly after the prompt.

I’ve added your details to our internal bug report for this issue. While I don’t have a timeline to share just yet, we’ll be sure to reach out as soon as there’s an update.

Thanks again for flagging this, and let me know if there’s anything else I can help with in the meantime!

Kind Regards
