Hi @Sandfuss
For us to have more context, post these screenshots:
- How your Zap steps are outlined and configured in EDIT mode
- The encounter error from testing the Zap step
- The top 3 rows of your GSheet worksheet being used in the Zap

Allright - here you go! Hope we can figure it out:-)
@Sandfuss
It may be that the TO email address is invalid and not deliverable.
If you are testing with the Zap turned ON, then check the Zap Runs history details to see the DATA IN/OUT for each Zap Run to help you troubleshoot: https://zapier.com/app/history/
Hey - thanks for reply and help
But no, the email address is definitely valid, so that is not the issue…
What do I specifically need to check in the Zap Runs history?
Kind regards,
Hi there @Sandfuss,
In the Reply To, Gmail requires an email address, not a name. If you map in a name, the Zapier task can still succeed, but the Mail Delivery Subsystem error will subsequently happen inside of Gmail.

Could you please try remapping the “Reply To” field with the email address instead?
Kindly give it a try and let me know how it goes? I'll keep an eye out for your response!
I've actually been having the same issue tinkered with it all day yesterday and no luck the only time it actually went through was when I put my email in the "to" field.
And is it necessary to connect Google forms to Google sheets for all of the information to be transferred over when I'm already connected it through a zap if so why. It tells you what to connect to what but it doesn't show you all the fields in the exact inputs to cause them to work properly
Hi there @Theundeniable,
Before we dig deeper into this, would you mind sharing a detailed screenshot of how your Zap is configured? Also, please share a screenshot of the “Action” section of the action step that shows all of its fields. Like so:

Please don't include personal information in the screenshot, or be sure blur out any personal information.
Thanks!
My response based on my understanding of what you requested. Everything seems to work except for using a non-static email if I put my actual email address it works I've done it before it went through. Even this joe. Doe as it appears the zap is able to complete what's inside I don't have access to that account I don't know what it sent.
Well I finally got it working(skipping zapier at the first connection but going straight from Google forms to Google sheets). Now the question is why won't the zaps work when I connect Google forms through zapier when I connect forms to sheets then to zapier it works wouldn't it be a stronger connection? If I need to give a diagram on this one too don't worry about answering it I'll figure get out along the way I guess.
Hi there @Theundeniable
Really pleased to hear you were able to get a solution in place by connecting to Google Sheets rather than Google Forms. That’s awesome news!
Now the question is why won't the zaps work when I connect Google forms through zapier when I connect forms to sheets then to zapier it works wouldn't it be a stronger connection?
Hmm, I wonder if the fields selected from the Google Forms trigger didn’t match what we were seeing when the Zap ran live. In that run of the Zap that got a “Recipient address required” error can you check whether the naming of the fields match? For example is there definitely a field called “Respondent Email” output from the Google Forms trigger step?
If there isn’t but there’s a differently named field that contained the respondents email address then you might need to manually select that field instead using custom pill mapping. See the following guide to learn more about that approach:
Alternatively, could it be that the Respondent Email field wasn’t filled out in the form when it was submitted? In which case you might need to set it to be a required field in Google Forms to ensure it’s always filled out.
Hope that helps. If you run into any further issues or questions just let us know!
