Trouble triggering Zapier on Excel when adding new payment rows

Hi

I am new and I need help with my zapier. I am creating a payment notification automation for all payments made and to send an email to the payee to notify them the payment has gone through.

I use google sheet to schedule all my payments and I specifically created a master sheet that all payment to be released will be on it. With a simple trigger action to notify Zapier on the request.

The problem I received now is that the zap is unable to identify which row of the action and does not have the efficiency nor the capability to identify any changes in the rows and only will trigger new rows being added at the bottom of the sheet and not to identify which row on action that has been made.

Please help me or am I doing it wrong?

Thank you.

Hi there @Ilovedisney,

It looks like you’ve reached out to our Support Team about this and they replied with a suggestion. I’ll share details of the suggestion here in case it’s helpful:

I understand you're experiencing challenges with creating a payment notification automation using Google Sheets and Zapier. Specifically, it seems the Zap is not efficiently identifying changes in rows on your master sheet—triggering only on new rows rather than recognizing actions on existing ones.

I have been looking at this Zap, and I see the Zap is set to trigger New or updated rows in Google Sheets. However, I see the remarks column has been set as the trigger column.

Could you confirm if the Zap is not triggering even after you update the Remarks column on the row?

I am keen to hear back from you, and I'll be keeping an eye out for your reply. Thanks!

Regards

If you’ve got any questions regarding their suggestion it would be best to continue the conversation with them over email. If you can’t locate their reply I’d recommend searching your spam/junk folder or searching your inbox for any emails from zapier.com in case. Sometimes their emails can end up in the spam/junk folder by accident.
