Question

Trouble syncing Loss Reason property data from HubSpot to Slack

I’m trying to send a slack message when a deal enters a certain stage in HubSpot.  I have everything set up, but when I entered the Loss Reason property, it says there’s no data.  The issue is that there is a data in HubSpot for the property, but it’s not coming over.

Hi @KDorm

Make sure to test with an HubSpot Deal that has the Loss Reason populated in HubSpot.

Try turning the Zap ON and testing live, then check the Zap Run history details to see the DATA IN/OUT for each step to help you trace the data flow: https://zapier.com/app/history/

hey, yeah that's a common one, HubSpot sometimes doesn't include certain properties in the trigger payload by default

quick question: are you pulling the Loss Reason value directly in the Slack message template, or are you trying to use it as a workflow condition?

Hy @KDorm, just checking in — did you manage to resolve this? If not, posting screenshots of your Zap steps and the full error would really help folks troubleshoot further.

I’m trying to pull it directly in the slack message.

In HubSpot, there’s information in the deal for the property Loss Reason, but in Zapier it says there’s no data.  When I tested the step, it was left blank

Hi there @KDorm 👋

Do other HubSpot deal test records also not have any values in that Deal information: Loss reason field, or is it just this one? And can you confirm whether the loss reason is added to a deal before or after the status is changed? Just wondering if it might be that the loss reason was added right after the deal's status was changed, so the Zap didn’t see it.

If that's the case, could you try adding a loss reason to another deal, then change its status to pull it in as a new test record? Does the loss reason show up then?

Let us know how it goes! 🙂
