Trainerize Error "no privilege to access user data"

Hi, I am trying to setup Aweber + Trainerize. I used one of their share zaps so that when there is a new subscriber on aweber we can add that subscriber to a Trainerize program. But I am getting an error when testing it.

It says “No privilege to access user data”. I have tried to check on Trainerize but I don’t find anything, so I was wondering if any of you guys can help me to figure out the solution for it.

Thanks in advance.

What is the role of the user you are loggin in with? It could have to do with that: https://help.trainerize.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000695586-Trainer-Manager-and-Staff-Permissions

Basically when I added Trainerize to my Zapier account it didn't ask me for any specific user information, it just asked me for email and password associated to the Trainerize account. I also tried another way to create a client and assign a program but I get this other error:

Any idea on this new error @mzsadiek? Thanks a lot

It looks like to logindetails you entered to connect with Trainerize does not have sufficient rights to write anything. Is your account an admin account in Trainerize?

I just talked with Trainerize live support and they told me it’s an owner/admin account, so permissions shouldn’t be a problem. They told me problem should be on Zapier side, which honestly I don’t think so, anyways I opened a ticket on Zapier since they don’t have live chat support.

Any other idea or possible solution @mzsadiek?

Hi @davidmatacr

You can try opening a ticket with Zapier Support for additional help: https://zapier.com/app/get-help

Do I need special account permissions in Trainerize to use it with Zapier?

You need to be a Trainerize account owner to connect it to Zapier.

I already confirmed with Trainerize support team and they told me I have an account owner.

Hey @davidmatacr! It looks like you were able to chat with our support team regarding this issue. Feel free to follow-up via that thread if you’re still experiencing issues.

I am going to post some of the troubleshooting tips here from my colleagues Nikki and Edcel for anyone following along that is running into similar challenges.

It looks like we might be dealing with some Trainerize permissions issues here. The error message that we're getting back in our logs indicates that the Trainerize account connected in the Zap does not have "Manage Client" permissions.

When connecting to Zapier, you will not see the permissions configured in the Trainerize account. This needs to be checked manually from your account settings within your Trainerize account.

It's possible the account connected in the Zap only has "Read" access for instances instead of "Write" access, and the larger "Write" permissions would be needed here. There's more on Trainerize permissions here: https://help.trainerize.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000695586-Trainer-Manager-and-Staff-Permissions

If the account connected is only a "Trainer" for instance, they can add new clients for themselves only, as an example.

We recommend signing into the Trainerize account with the highest permissions, or double-checking that the account connected also the highest permissions.
